Founded in 2008, Bambootoo was conceived by owner Ann Poppelwell as the result of discovering an eco friendly fabric that had many of the benefits of silk. Along with an accessible product, a reputable supplier and manufacturer are integral to the Bambootoo’s brand. Ann makes regular visits to China to meet with suppliers and oversee production and quality control.
The versatile and very soft bamboo pants, singlets, long sleeve tops, shrugs and long jackets, are made from 95% bamboo with an added 5% spandex to maintain shape. Ann has been wearing her bamboo garments for over a year now on a daily basis to test for their wash and wear capabilities. She has found that they do not shrink, pill or lose their colour, and are lovely and soft to wear and warm in these cooler months.
