Silk is even eco friendly to our environment. A recent survey conducted by Keith Cowlishaw, head of RMIT's school of fashion and textiles gave silk the thumbs up by giving it the highest eco rating over cotton, wool and polyester. "Silk is not produced using fossil fuels or regarded as a major polluter and isn't cause for concern on sustainability grounds" he says.
